After reading the decision of the Italian Swimming Federation Disciplinary Committee, President Giovanni Malagò has declared: 

"This is the triumph of illogicality. I have been attributed an inexistent fact and because of this I have been convicted by a FIN sport justice trial. The decision confirms once more time that reforming the Sport Justice Code was necessary so that it could be really respectful towards those principles that regulate the sport system. It is not a coincidence that out of 75 members the only one opposing this decision in the National Council was the Italian Swimming Federation President. The most surprising thing nevertheless is that the FIN Disciplinary Commission, taking its own responsibilities, has denied a recent decision of the whole CONI National Board, which had indicated the Sport Disciplinary Board, which is the "Sport High Court of Appeal", as the highest authority to ask for an opinion. An opinion which explicitly excluded the ownership of the Italian Swimming Federation Disciplinary Commission".
